“Cinematic” is a very broad instruction. It could mean a lens choice, colour, lighting, pacing or simply black bars. Two people can ask for it and want quite different things.
References help, especially when I can say what I like about them. Keep this framing, borrow that palette, leave out the polished commercial lighting. The explanation matters as much as the image.
I want creative tools to preserve those choices. Let me compare versions, annotate a reference and keep a detail that worked. If I reject the same pattern repeatedly, give me a way to exclude it rather than another list of prompt adjectives.
More options don’t always help. After enough variations, choosing becomes the work. A useful tool should help me compare the relevant differences without making me review twenty nearly identical outputs.
Some things I like are hard to explain until I see them. That’s fine. I still want to make the selection myself, and have the tool remember the specific choice rather than invent a general theory of my taste.
